Reading made easy!

Holy Cross RC Primary SchoolChildren from Holy Cross RC Primary School in Bedminster, Bristol are getting to grips with some new bi-lingual reading resources.

Thanks to a donation by local electricity company, Western Power Distribution, this multi-cultural school can help children improve their literacy skills and in particular support children with English as an additional language.

The Interactive Literacy pack will supplement the existing reading scheme and contains books, a CD-Rom and a Talking Pen which, at the touch of a page narrates the text aloud in English and Polish versions of the books.

Denise Fannin, Literacy co-ordinator at Holy Cross said; “As a multi-cultural school with a growing Polish community we are committed to ensuring that all our children reach their full potential and this interactive resource pack will enhance the work we currently provide in a fun and stimulating way,”
